New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Saturday held an important conversation with the top leadership of the Indian Army on the sidelines of the Army Commanders Conference. The high-level review emphasized strengthening combat capabilities, infrastructure development and preparedness of the armed forces to effectively deal with any security situation in the region.
The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) posted on social media X. The Defence Minister and the CDS reviewed the current security situation in the region and discussed measures to enhance the future preparedness of the Armed Forces for any eventuation. During the talks, they were briefed on operational readiness and key initiatives to strengthen combat capability and infrastructure in the region.
The Defence Minister’s meeting with senior military commanders comes at a time when the Indian armed forces are undergoing a critical phase of modernisation and structural reforms. The aim is to increase jointness and operational synergy between the three services. The discussions also focused on the integration of advanced technologies, indigenisation under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and strategies to keep the army ready for war in diverse terrains and operational environments.
