Although this year’s above-normal rainfall has exacerbated the statewide disaster, it has also helped clean the air throughout the city. Meanwhile, as Diwali approaches, the AQI has also begun to rise. Experts say that bright sunshine can contribute to airborne dust pollution.
Looking at the data, Doon’s AQI was recorded at 49 on October 12th, while on Saturday it reached 58. However, experts consider this standard of air quality to be clean. Last year, Doon’s AQI was recorded at 145 on October 18th.
This October has seen significant improvement compared to last year. Regarding the weather, the state will remain dry for a week. While the bright sunshine will bring relief from the cold in the mountains, the daytime heat will be a problem in the plains.
Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal said, “There is a noticeable difference in morning and evening temperatures in the mountains.” However, due to bright sunshine throughout the day, the feeling of cold is reducing.
