Patna: The politics of Purvanchal is influenced by Uttar Pradesh. Due to the fact that Uttar Pradesh is adjacent to the state, the politics of Uttar Pradesh works to give direction to the politics of many districts. In Purvanchal, there was a tough fight between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan in the 2020 elections. However, the weight of the grand alliance was heavy. This time the BJP has made special preparations.
Mahagathbandhan’s dominance in Bihar’s Purvanchal: 19 assembly seats in seven districts of Bihar share a border with Uttar Pradesh. Leaders from neighbouring states are sometimes seen campaigning in these areas. In the assembly elections held in 2020, the NDA won 8 and the Mahagathbandhan won 10. Mayawati’s BSP won one seat, which later joined the JD(U). Jama Khan had won the elections from the Chainpur assembly seat on a BSP ticket and later joined the JD(U) and Nitish Kumar also became a minister in the cabinet.
Important role of BSP in victory: Valmikinagar and Nautan in western Champaran, Kuchaikot, Bhore and Hathua in Gopalganj, Jiradei, Daruli, Raghunathpur and Daronda in Siwan district, Ekma, Manjhi and Chhapra in Saran, Barhra and Ara in Bhojpur, Brahmapur, Buxar and Rajpur in Buxar, Ramgarh and Chainpur in Kaimur are the seats on which Uttar Pradesh has a significant influence.
NDA believes in Keshav Prasad Maurya: Many leaders of Uttar Pradesh show strength in Bihar politics. Political parties have made special preparations in the 2025 elections as well. The Bahujan Samajwadi Party has influence on Purvanchal and the party has a role in victory and defeat. The BJP has prepared a special strategy to conquer 2025 and Keshav Prasad Maurya, who comes from the most backward society of Uttar Pradesh, has been made election co-in-charge. UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has been given the responsibility of Purvanchal area.
Yogi Adityanath will show his strength: During the election campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also try to change the direction of the wind in Purvanchal. Yogi Adityanath had also come to Bihar in the 2020 assembly elections and visited Purvanchal. Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Bihar is also going to be in 2025. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will try to make the backward vote bank in favour of the NDA.
JDU’s dominance: If we talk about the 2020 elections, then Dhirendra Pratap Singh alias Rinku Singh of Janata Dal United managed to win the election from Valmikinagar assembly constituency. He defeated Rajesh Singh of the Congress party by about 21500 votes. Tharu schedule tribe voters are decisive in Valmikinagar Assembly constituency. JD(U)’s Amarendra Kumar Pandey holds the Kuchaikot assembly seat in Gopalganj. Amarinder Kumar Pandey defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Kali Prasad Pandey.
The JD(U) holds the Bhore Assembly seat. JD(U) candidate Sunil Kumar won the election. JD(U)’s Sunil Kumar got 74467 votes while CPIML’s Jitendra Paswan got 736005 votes. Sunil Kumar won the election against Kante.
BJP’s Narayan Prasad won the Nautan assembly seat. He is a part of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. He defeated Kamran by 25896 votes. Rajesh Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Ramsewak Singh of the Janata Dal United by more than 30527 votes in the Hathua Assembly constituency.
Two seats of Siwan in the account of CPIML: The assembly constituency of Siwan district also belongs to Uttar Pradesh. Jiradei, Darauli, Raghunathpur and Daronda assembly seats border with UP. In the 2020 assembly elections, Amarjit Kushwaha of CPIML won the Jiradei assembly seat. Amarjit Kushwaha defeated Kamal Singh of Janata Dal (United) by 25510 votes.
Satyadev Ram of CPIML had won the Darauli assembly seat. He defeated BJP’s Ramayana Manjhi by 12119 votes. Hari Shankar Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Raghunathpur assembly seat. Hari Shankar Yadav defeated Manoj Kumar Singh of the LJP by a margin of 17965 votes. BJP’s Karanjit Singh won the Daronda Assembly seat. He had removed Amarnath Yadav of the Communist Party of India by 11320 votes.
Battle of thorns in Lalu’s stronghold Saran: Some assembly seats of Saran district also fall from Uttar Pradesh. Manjhi, Chapra and Ekma assembly constituencies are from Uttar Pradesh. If we talk about Manjhi assembly seat, then Satyendra Yadav of the Communist Party of India won the elections from here. He defeated his rival candidate Madhavi Singh of the JD(U) by 1064 votes.
The BJP had won the Chhapra Assembly seat. Senior party leader CN Gupta defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Randhir Kumar by 6771 votes. In Ekma assembly seat, Srikant Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Sita Devi of Janata Dal United by a margin of 13927 votes. Srikant Yadav got 53875 votes yesterday, while Sita Devi got 39948 votes.
The Mahagathbandhan took over Shahabad: The Shahabad region is also considered to be an area with influence of Uttar Pradesh. There are some assembly seats in Shahbad region which are set from Uttar Pradesh and belong to Beti Roti. Badhra and Ara of Bhojpur, Brahmapur, Buxar and Rajpur of Buxar district, Ramgarh and Chainpur of Kaimur are also considered to have the influence of Uttar Pradesh.
The Buxar Assembly seat is held by the Congress. At the same time, the Congress has occupied Rajpur too. The Brahmapur Assembly seat is held by the Rashtriya Janata Dal. While Ashok Kumar of the BJP has won the Ramgarh assembly seat, Sangita Kumari of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Mohaniya assembly seat. However, he has changed his mind.
Buxar Assembly constituency seems to be from Uttar Pradesh, the Ganga river connects Bihar with Uttar Pradesh and the influence of Uttar Pradesh is considered to be on the politics of Buxar. Although Buxar is considered a Brahmin dominant and the BJP has been in control for a long time, but since the last two elections, Munna Tiwari of the Congress party has occupied Buxar. In the 2020 assembly elections, Munna Tiwari defeated his nearest candidate Parashuram Choubey by 3892 votes.
In Brahmapur assembly seat, Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Shambhu Nath Pandey defeated Lok Janshakti Party’s Hulas Pandey by a huge margin of 51141 votes. Rajpur Assembly constituency is a reserve seat and Vishwanath Ram of the Congress party won. Vishwanath Ram defeated Santosh Kumar Nirala of the JD(U) by 21204 votes.
While Bharat Bind of the Rashtriya Janata Dal held the Bhabua assembly seat, Jam Khan of the Bahujan Samajwadi Party defeated BJP’s Braj Kishore Bina by a margin of 24294 votes in the Chainpur assembly seat. Jama Khan later joined the JD(U). A large number of people from the district move to Uttar Pradesh for education, health and jobs. In the Bhabua assembly seat, Bharat Bind of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Rinki Rani Pandey of the BJP by 10045 votes.
Sudhakar Singh had won the Ramgarh assembly seat in 2020, but in the by-election, Ashok Kumar Singh of the BJP defeated Jagdanand Singh’s son. In the 2020 assembly elections, Sudhakar Singh of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Ambika Singh of the Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 189 votes.
In the by-election, Ashok Kumar Singh of the BJP defeated Satish Kumar Singh of the Bahujan Samaj Party by a margin of 1362 votes. The Rashtriya Janata Dal moved to the third position. In the 2020 assembly elections, Sangeeta Kumari of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Niranjan Ram of the BJP by a margin of 12054 votes in the Mohaniya assembly seat.

The party has confidence in Keshav Prasad Maurya and Yogi Adityanath. The BJP can get the advantage of having a government in UP in the Purvanchal area of Bihar.
Rohtas district is also associated with Uttar Pradesh. Being a border district, the people of the area are closer to each other from a cultural point of view. Vijay Gupta of the Rashtriya Janata Dal had won the Sasaram assembly seat in 2020. Vijay Gupta defeated JD(U)’s Ashok Kumar by 26423 votes.
Fateh Bahadur of the Rashtriya Janata Dal defeated Satyanarayan Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party by 464 votes in the Dehri assembly seat. In the Chenari assembly seat, Murari Gautam of the Congress party defeated Lalan Paswan of the JD(U) by 18,000 votes. Murari Gautam has joined the NDA. In 2020, Arun Singh of the CPIML had defeated Rajeshwar Raj of the BJP by 18,189 votes in the Karakat assembly seat.
