Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav stated that wildlife conservation is not just a duty, but a shared responsibility to ensure harmony between nature and people. The Union Forest Minister made this statement at the Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations (themed “Human-Wildlife Coexistence”) held in the auditorium of the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy. Union Forest Minister Yadav called for the use of technology and innovation in wildlife management, adopting a community-based approach, and strengthening the partnership of all stakeholders in conservation efforts. The Union Forest Minister launched five national projects, including Project Sloth Bear, the implementation action plan for conservation under Gharial, and the Center of Excellence for Human-Wildlife Conflict Management. Project Dolphin Phase-2 and Tigers Outside Tiger Reserves were also launched. Scientists from the Wildlife Institute of India also gave presentations. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav also unveiled four national-level action plans and field guides for species population estimation and monitoring programs. It also released progress reports on the Phase-2 population estimation of river dolphins and other species, the Phase-2 population estimation of snow leopards, and the population estimation of the Great Indian Bustard and Lesser Florican. The All India Tiger Estimation Cycle-6 field guide was also released, available in eight languages. The finalists of the National Hackathon on Human-Wildlife Conflict Coexistence were also honored at the event. Officials from FRI, WII, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, and the Forest Department were present. Disseminate technologies and research findings to end users At the 31st Annual General Meeting of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) at FRI, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav called for disseminating technologies and research findings to end users.
