An elderly couple pleaded with District Magistrate Savin Bansal to evict their son and daughter-in-law from their home. District Magistrate Savin Bansal, in just two hearings, resolved the family dispute, which was causing the family to disintegrate, with his wisdom and urged the elderly couple not to evict their son and daughter-in-law, who had three children. He counseled both parties, thus attempting to prevent the family from breaking apart. While reminding the family of their duties and responsibilities, he also urged them to live together. He urged the family to live together, encouraging the poor son and daughter-in-law to keep the elderly with them, and encouraging the elderly couple not to abandon their son and his family in this situation. Dissatisfied with their son and daughter-in-law, the elderly couple filed a case under the Maintenance Act in the District Magistrate Court. On August 22, 2025, an elderly couple, Jaswant Singh and his wife, residents of Khudbudda, met with the District Magistrate in his office, complaining of harassment by their son and daughter-in-law, and requested the daughter-in-law’s eviction. District Magistrate Savin Bansal heard both parties and advised them to resolve their differences and live in harmony. The district administration will continuously monitor the situation and urged both parties to live in harmony and not encroach on each other’s rights. The reconciliation between the poor son, daughter-in-law, and elderly parents has prevented a family from breaking apart. The elderly couple has four sons, two of whom live separately with their families, and a disabled son. His son, Bansi, against whom the couple had filed a case under the Maintenance Act, has three minor children: two girls and one boy. His son runs a small clothing business and is in poor financial health. The District Magistrate requested the elderly couple not to throw out their son, daughter-in-law and minor grandchildren from their house and also reminded the son and daughter-in-law of their duties and responsibilities towards the elders
