New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the tentative dates for the 2025-2026 Class 10 and 12 board examinations. These exams will be held from February 17, 2026, to July 15, 2026. The board has sent this information to all affiliated schools through its official website.
The board has appealed to all students, parents, and teachers to plan their exams based on the tentative dates and wait for the final date. Furthermore, the board has clarified that these dates are tentative. The final date will be released only after all schools submit their final student lists to the board. According to the CBSE notice, four types of examinations will be conducted during this period:
Main examinations (Classes 10 and 12)
Exams for sports students (Class 12)
Second Board Examination (Class 10)
Supplementary Examination (Class 12)
Number of students and subjects: Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, stated that approximately 4.5 million students will appear for the examinations in 2026. These examinations will be conducted in 204 subjects. He added that CBSE board examinations will be conducted not only in India but also in 26 other countries.
Practical work and evaluation: He further stated that, along with the examinations, practical work, evaluation, and other tasks related to the declaration of results will also be completed on time. Evaluation will begin approximately 10 days after the examination for each subject and will be completed within a maximum of 12 days. For example, if the Class 12 Physics exam is scheduled on February 20, 2026, then it will be evaluated from March 3, 2026 to March 15, 2026.
