New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Gujarat. He held a roadshow in Bhavnagar on Saturday. Following this, PM Modi participated in the “Sea to Prosperity” program and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore.
Addressing a public rally on the occasion, PM Modi said, “India has no choice but to be self-reliant. 1.4 billion Indians should have one resolve: whether it’s a chip or a ship, we must make it in India. We are going to introduce new reforms for Indian ports. ‘One Nation, One Document’ and ‘One Nation, One Port Process’ will facilitate trade.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Saturday, where he was greeted by a large crowd. PM Modi will launch a series of transformative development projects across various sectors during a high-level event held at Jawahar Maidan.
PM Modi participated in the Prime Minister’s “Samudra Se Samriddhi” program and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth over ₹34,200 crore. The maritime sector is the main focus of the program, where Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹7,870 crore. These initiatives include the upgrade of critical infrastructure at major Indian ports. These include the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and the laying of the foundation stone for a new container terminal at the Syama Prasad Mukherjee Port in Kolkata. Additional maritime development projects include a new cargo berth and container handling facility at Paradip Port (Odisha), the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, and modernization projects at Kamarajar Port (Ennore, Tamil Nadu), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, Deendayal Port (Kandla), and inland waterway facilities in Patna and Varanasi.
The Prime Minister will also unveil a large portfolio of projects worth ₹26,354 crore in Gujarat alone, focusing on sectors such as renewable energy, port infrastructure, road infrastructure, healthcare, and urban transport. Key Gujarat-specific initiatives will be inaugurated, including the HPLNG regasification terminal at Chhara Port, the acrylic and oxo alcohol project at the Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe initiative, and the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder for farmers.
The Badeli 45 MW solar PV project and the complete solarization of Dhordo village will also be inaugurated. In the areas of healthcare and urban infrastructure, foundation stones will be laid for the expansion of the Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and the Guru Govind Singh Government Hospital in Jamnagar. Prime Minister Modi will also launch a project to four-laning 70 kilometers of national highways. This will improve connectivity and trade routes in the state. Several MoUs will be signed between government bodies and private companies, strengthening public-private partnerships and accelerating regional development. The Prime Minister will also conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, which is envisioned as a greenfield industrial city based on sustainable industrialization, smart infrastructure and global investment.
