Ranchi: Many big criminals of Jharkhand have acquired property outside the country by earning money from terror. Especially Aman Sahu and Mayank Singh, who were killed in the encounter, have also bought property abroad by sending money through hawala. Apart from this, investments have also been made. Jharkhand ATS has received information about half a dozen people connected with the hawala link, on whom action is being prepared.
Use of hawala for weapons and property
Notorious criminal Mayank Singh, arrested from Azerbaijan, has made big revelations about where the money earned from hawala business and extortion has been invested. The money that Mayank’s gang used to collect as extortion from other states including Jharkhand, was sent abroad through hawala and weapons were also bought with it. Along with this, property was also bought abroad. Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha said that firstly hawala was used to buy weapons, secondly whatever property was bought for the criminals of the gang inside and outside the country, money was also transacted through hawala. Money transaction with the help of Western Union
Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha said that the name of Western Union Company has also come up during the investigation. Money transaction has been done through Western Union Company. Investigation is also being done on this. According to the things that have come to light in the investigation, crores of rupees used to reach abroad from Jharkhand. Through hawala and Western Union money transfer company, money was sent from abroad to India or from India to abroad. ATS sources say that transactions worth crores of rupees have been done with the help of this.
Hawala used for weapons too
ATS investigation has proved Mayank Singh’s Pakistan connection of weapons, further investigation is also being done in this regard. According to the information available so far, Aman Saw had sent crores of rupees to Pakistan through hawala in exchange for the supply of weapons in Jharkhand. Money for weapons was first sent to Europe through hawala, after which the money was sent to Thailand and Malaysia.
Half a dozen restaurants and cafes of Pakistan located in Malaysia were used for arms deals. According to the information given by ATS, there are two restaurants of Pakistan in Malaysia, one of which is named Pak Punjabi Restaurant in which Pakistani employees are working. Hawala money used to reach Pakistan through those Pakistani employees, while the money went to Pakistani arms suppliers in return for which they used to supply arms from Pakistan to India.
Half a dozen on the radar
More than half a dozen people from India and abroad are on the radar in the case of transferring money through hawala and Western Union. Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha said that everyone has been identified. Action will be taken against everyone and at the same time all the properties which have been purchased through hawala business are being traced.
