Barkot (Uttarkashi): Due to overnight rain in the Yamunotri valley, the Yamunotri highway has been closed at many places. Due to the rising water level of the lake built on the Yamuna river in Syana Chatti, the lower floors of many hotels have been submerged. Along with this, the motor bridge built on the Yamunotri highway in Syana Chatti has come under threat.
The road has been completely damaged at many places on the Yamunotri highway. Movement has come to a halt. One and a half dozen villages including Yamunotri Dham have lost contact with the tehsil headquarters. On the other hand, the Gangotri highway has been closed at Sanglai Helgugad. Passengers are stranded here since morning. At the same time, about 10 meters of the highway has collapsed in Bhatwadi.
CM said – Safety of passengers is a priority
At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in future the journey will be taken forward according to the weather. Said that our priority during the Yatra is the safety of all the pilgrims. All our district officials, disaster management teams, NDRF and SDRF are fully prepared.
Local people have called it the indifference and carelessness of the system. Jaipal Singh Rawat, Praveen Rana, Chitramohan Singh said that the people of Siyana Chatti remained awake the whole night. Jaipal Singh Rawat said that all the goods have been destroyed due to the water of Yamuna river entering the first floor. There has been a loss of lakhs.
People say that if the system still does not wake up, then the collapse of the hotel building in Siyana Chatti as well as the motor bridge built on the Yamuna river cannot be ruled out.
