Under the Vibrant Village Scheme, an Under of Goodwill program has been organized in collaboration with the district administration and the army for the overall development of the villages. It has to give national and international recognition to infrastructure, self-employment, promotion of local products and culture in border villages. Apple processing unit will be opened in Jhala on behalf of the Army.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Tiju Thomas said that suitable land has been selected for setting up an Apple processing unit in Jhala village. The project will directly benefit the regional farmers and will be a significant initiative towards value addition at the local level. He said that the plan to set up a community radio station in the marginal villages under the approval of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India is also in progress, which will provide an effective platform for communication on local issues along with the dissemination of the schemes.
At the same time, the Harshil Heritage Festival was also discussed in detail to give global recognition to tourism, culture and handicrafts of the Harshil region. During this, the District Magistrate said that the festival should be organized on World Tourism Day. He directed the officials of the concerned line departments to provide all necessary technical and administrative support in the implementation of the proposed Apple Processing Unit at Jhala. ADM PL Shah, SDM Devanand Sharma, Shalani Negi and others were present on the occasion.
