On Saturday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred financial assistance totaling ₹18.49 crore via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of 10,709 worker beneficiaries under the schemes of the Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
The beneficiaries covered by this disbursement include those receiving aid for education (8,083), daughters’ marriages (2,354), post-death assistance (177), and maternity support (95).
Key directives and achievements:
• Health Treatment: The CM directed that workers identified as ill during health screenings receive proper treatment through coordination with the Health Department.
• Festive Season: Departments were instructed to accelerate public utility and service-related activities in view of the upcoming festivals.
• LCCMS System: The Labour Cess Management System (LCCMS) received the SKOCH Gold Award (2025) in the e-governance category; the system facilitated a 47.21% increase in cess collection.
• National Recognition: The model of conducting workplace health screenings via mobile medical units has been acclaimed at the national level, with other states also showing interest in adopting it.
