Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) arrived at Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday morning to have darshan of Lord Kedarnath. He performed a special Rudrabhishek puja at the temple and sought blessings for world welfare, prosperity of humanity, and sustainable development of Uttarakhand. After the Kedarnath darshan, the Governor proceeded to Badrinath Dham. Upon his arrival at the shrine, Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana and Chief Development Officer Rajendra Singh Rawat welcomed him with a bouquet of flowers at the VIP helm. The Governor then proceeded on foot to the temple premises, where he performed abhishek and puja of Lord Kedarnath, praying for the prosperity of the citizens of the region and the progress of the state. The Governor met with the Tirtha Purohit community in the temple premises. He was welcomed with traditional chanting and rituals. Describing it as a deeply spiritual and emotional experience, the Governor said that every particle of Kedarghati is filled with Shiva. The presence of Lord Shiva is felt in the mountains here. The mind becomes absorbed in meditation upon setting foot on this sacred land. After the puja, the Governor greeted the devotees gathered in the temple premises and filled the atmosphere with devotion with chants of Baba Kedarnath. Governor conducts on-site inspection of reconstruction works The Governor conducted on-site inspection of the ongoing reconstruction and development works at Kedarnath Dham. On this occasion, Executive Engineer (DDM) Vinay Jhinkwan provided the Governor with detailed information about the ongoing construction work at the Dham. It was stated that most of the reconstruction work has been completed, and the remaining work is in the final stages. The Governor stated that significant progress has been made in yatra management and reconstruction over the past three years. He commended the district administration, temple committee, police department, SDRF, NDRF, and all supporting agencies, saying that their role in making the Chardham Yatra successful, safe, and devotee-friendly is commendable.
