New Delhi: Amidst the winter session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a special dinner for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs at his official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, on Thursday evening. This event came on the heels of the NDA’s landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, where the alliance secured 202 out of 243 seats.
At the dinner, PM Modi shared his personal experiences with the MPs, revealing that he sleeps only 3.5 hours a day, but also emphasized that quality sleep is more important than quantity.
On Thursday, approximately 427 NDA MPs were brought to the PM’s residence by buses for PM Modi’s dinner, which was part of the Prime Minister’s initiative to promote environmental protection and carpooling. At the beginning of the event, Prime Minister Modi visited each table and interacted with the MPs individually. He spent over 90 minutes exclusively with young and first-time MPs.
Life lessons, personal experiences, and tips for handling pressure were shared during the meeting. The PM said that clarity of purpose helps relieve stress. He also shared his experiences as Chief Minister of Gujarat, where he never left a call unanswered at his office. He also emphasized the proper use of technology, explaining that despite not owning a phone, he remains connected with people.
The dinner featured a sumptuous menu of traditional dishes from different regions of the country, reflecting the diversity of the NDA. From Kashmir’s famous Kahwa to Bengal’s sweet Rasgulla, every taste was catered to. Main dishes included Gongura Paneer and Palakura Pappu from Andhra Pradesh, Malai Kofta from North India, as well as various regional dishes. The menu was not only delicious but also showcased the unity of the alliance.
The main agenda of the event was to discuss the political roadmap for 2026, with a special focus on the West Bengal and Tamil Nadu assembly elections. BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that the dinner was held after Bihar’s historic victory. He added that the next dinner would be held after Bengal’s victory. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju shared a video, describing it as “one big, happy family.” PM Modi himself tweeted on social media, “It was a pleasure to host a dinner for NDA MPs at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The NDA family is committed to good governance, national development, and regional aspirations. Together, we will strengthen the nation’s development journey.”
The event was also meant to signal the NDA’s strength and a shared strategy for the upcoming elections. NDA MPs praised the initiative. BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat said, “The dinner at the PM’s residence is a proud moment.” Overall, the evening was not just a dining experience, but also an opportunity to strengthen the alliance’s unity and commitment to development, and to set an example for the opposition.
