Uttarkashi: Due to landslide, about 10 meters of Gangotri Highway collapsed in Bhatwadi. The highway is getting obstructed repeatedly. The work of making the route smooth by BRO is going on. Police force is on the spot. As soon as the highway opens, the stranded passengers are being evacuated.
Due to the collapse of the road, it can get submerged in the river anytime. In Uttarakhand, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for today in Doon, Tehri, Nainital and Champawat districts. There is a possibility of heavy rain with lightning in these districts.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, many rounds of rain can be seen in most parts of the four districts with yellow alert. According to meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal, the rain will continue for the next five days. Intense showers can also be seen in some mountainous areas.
