New Delhi: The Modi government at the Centre had recently increased the dearness allowance (DA) for central employees. According to reports, after the Centre, several states have also started taking decisions regarding allowances. In line with this, the Arunachal Pradesh government led by Pema Khandu has recently announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for state government employees and pensioners.
With this increase, the effective rate has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent from July 1, 2025. Announcing the hike, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that the dues for the period from July to September 2025 will also be released and the revised DA and DR will be included in the October salary and pension.
Strong commitment of the government
“Sharing the update on social media, CM Khandu wrote, “”This decision reflects our government’s strong commitment to employee welfare.” We want to make sure that every member of our workforce and retired community feels valued and supported.”
Earlier, the state government had increased the DA and DR from 53 per cent to 55 per cent in May 2025. With this new increase, the allowances of employees in Arunachal Pradesh are now at the same level as those of central government employees. The decision will benefit more than 75,000 regular employees, pensioners and AIS officers of the state government.
Rajasthan government also increased DA
At the same time, the Rajasthan government has also announced an increase in the DA of employees. In Rajasthan, the Bhajan Lal government has increased the dearness allowance of the state employees by three percent, keeping in mind the interests of the employees.
Not only this, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Dia Kumari has also given approval to the bonus for government employees. The minister has given a nod to the decision to give a bonus of around Rs 6,774 to the employees. This decision will give relief to about 6 lakh non-Rajaparitra employees of the state.
Jharkhand government’s gift to employees
Similarly, the Jharkhand government has also announced a three percent increase in the dearness allowance for state employees, pensioners and family pensioners. This will increase the dearness allowance of state government employees from 55 per cent to 58 per cent.
Bihar government’s Diwali gift
Apart from this, earlier this month, the Bihar government also announced a 3 percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees. This dearness allowance, which was earlier 55 percent, will now be increased to 58 percent. This will benefit 48 lakh government employees and 68 lakh pensioners.
