Jodhpur: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who reached Jodhpur on Monday, said that the soil of Rajasthan is steeped in valour, which is not seen anywhere else. He said that the brave sons of this place are our inspiration, who have increased the honour of Mother India. Mentioning saints like Meera Bai, Dhanna Bhagat, he said that they have carried forward the tradition of devotion.
Inauguration of Adarsh Defence and Sports Academy: Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Adarsh Defence and Sports Academy built under the Lalsagar project in the Adarsh Vidya Mandir campus run by Vidya Bharti at Lalsagar. He said that the confluence of defence and education is unique and when sports are also included in it, it becomes even more special. According to him, the students coming out from here will not only bring glory to Rajasthan but the entire country.
Tough stand on terrorism: The Defence Minister mentioned the incident of 22 May in Pahalgam in his address. He told that the terrorists had killed the people there after asking their religion, but our soldiers killed the terrorists by looking at their deeds and not their religion. He said that the next day there was a meeting with the chiefs of the three armies, who were unanimous that they were ready for any operation. The Prime Minister gave necessary instructions and the army carried out a precise attack.
Rajasthan needs more military officers: Rajnath Singh said that a large number of soldiers go to the army from Rajasthan, but very few become officers. He believes that this project of Vidya Bharati will fill this gap and officers who can provide leadership will also emerge from here. Mentioning the traditions of Rajasthan, he said that this land never accepts subjugation. The power of Rana, the devotion of Meera, the spirit of sacrifice of Panna Dhay and the wealth of Bhamashah are the identity of Rajasthan. The sons of this place still protect the tricolor on the borders and it is a matter of good fortune to be born on this land.
Role of Vidya Bharati: On this occasion, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that Vidya Bharati has been imparting cultured education for the last six decades. This journey has been going on in Jodhpur since 1964 and currently 17 schools are operating. He told that this institute has been established to prepare students who bring glory to the country in the field of defense and sports.
Cost and facilities of the academy: Vidya Bharati’s organization minister Yatindra Sharma told that this big project is being developed in the centenary year of the Sangh. The total cost of the Lalsagar project is about Rs 110 crore. In the first phase, a hostel has been built by spending Rs 30 crore, which will have accommodation for more than 400 students. Out of these, 200 students will be trained in the defense sector (NDA etc.) and 200 students in the sports sector at the national and international level. Admission will be through selection test only.
On this occasion, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, MP Rajendra Gehlot, former MP Kailash Chaudhary, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s state pracharak Nimbaram, minister Jogaram Patel, MPs, MLAs, military and administrative officers of the country and state and a large number of citizens were present.
India maintains morality even in war: The Defense Minister honored the brave women in the honor ceremony of brave women organized by Marwar Rajput Sabha. On this occasion, he said that the spirit shown by our army in Operation Sindoor was very strong. We had decided that we will not attack the army and common people of Pakistan. India showed morality in war even in this period. The Defense Minister said that wherever I go, I meet the warriors of Rajasthan. I always express respect towards them.
