There was a stir in the Haridwar district administration on Thursday morning when the news of the collapse of the Kanwar track connecting Har Ki Pauri to CCR came to light. According to preliminary information, there was a large scale leakage in the old pipeline (installed: 1972) of the drinking water corporation located under the track, due to which the road was cut and washed away and a deep pit of several meters was formed.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the Vice President of Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) **Anshul Singh** reached the spot and personally monitored the repair work. Under his leadership, the concerned departments showed promptness and worked throughout the day and by evening the damaged track was repaired and reopened for traffic.
**Anshul Singh** said that at present an alternative route has been prepared so that there is no hindrance in the Kanwar Yatra. He thanked the entire team for their prompt action in this emergency situation—especially **HRDA Secretary Manish Singh**, **Assistant Engineer Prashant Semwal**, and other staff.
The dilapidated pipeline of the drinking water corporation has also been repaired and the administration has assured that a permanent solution will be worked out to avoid such incidents in future
