Dehradun Airport is soon going to be connected by air to Asia’s largest airport Jewar Airport (Noida International Airport). At the same time, for the first time, Air India Express is going to operate its flights to three big cities of the country from Dehradun Airport.
Winter schedule is implemented at Dehradun Airport at the end of October. For this winter season, aviation companies have applied to AAI to operate flights. In which aviation company Indigo will start its flight for the first time in the winter season to Jewar Airport with a 180-seater aircraft. At the same time, for the first time in the winter season at Dehradun Airport, Air India Express will start its flights from Dehradun with a 180-seater aircraft. The company will have a total of three flights from Dehradun to Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai.
These flights are yet to get approval from DGCA. After the approval of DGCA, the company will also start the sale of its staff and tickets. Dehradun Airport already has flights of other companies to Bangalore and Ahmedabad. But flights will start for the first time to Jewar Airport and Navi Mumbai. After which Doon Airport will be connected to two more big cities of the country in the winter season.
Both airports are new
Jewar Airport in Noida and Navi Mumbai Airport in Mumbai have been newly built. Flights are proposed to be started from Jewar Airport on 29 September and from Navi Mumbai on 30 September. Domestic flights will be started first and international flights will be started later from both the airports. Then Doon Airport will also be connected to flights from both these cities. With the start of Jewar Airport, there are chances of some burden of Delhi Airport and Navi Mumbai Airport reducing. Dialogue
Currently four companies are operating flights
Currently Indigo, Air India, SpiceJet and Alliance Air are operating more than 12 flights daily at Doon Airport. Air India Express will be the fifth company which will operate its flight from Dehradun. This will also increase the number of flights
