Haldwani: A big meeting was held at the administration level on Thursday, July 17, to free the railway land from encroachment in Nainital district headquarters Haldwani and Lalkuan. Apart from the district administration, officials of railways and other related departments were also present in the meeting. In the meeting, instructions have been given to identify the encroachment on railway land and remove it.
In fact, there is encroachment on railway land in Haldwani and its surrounding areas. In this regard, a letter was written by the railway to the Nainital district administration. In the letter, the railway has demanded the removal of encroachment on their land for many years. After this, a joint meeting of the district administration and the railway was held in Haldwani tehsil on Thursday. In the meeting, instructions have been issued to identify the encroachment and take action to remove them.
It is being told that under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Haldwani and Lalkuan railway stations are to be expanded. In this sequence, the process of removing encroachment spread around Haldwani and Lalkuan railway stations has now been expedited, but the biggest obstacle in this is coming from the encroachment on government land near the railway station. However, now the railway and district administration have made up their mind to remove this encroachment.
It was decided in the meeting that the encroachments made on the railway land will be identified and removed. Immediately after the meeting, the joint team conducted a field inspection of Haldwani and Lalkuan railway station areas. From today itself, the officers and employees have started the work of identifying the encroachment.
Additional District Magistrate Vivek Rai, while taking a meeting with the railway officials, said that on the instructions of the District Magistrate, the railway and district administration as well as other departments besides the forest department will jointly identify the railway encroachment land. After this, action will be taken to remove them after giving them notice.
Railway officials said that notices have also been issued at some places in the past. Action to remove them will be taken soon. Additional District Magistrate Vivek Rai said that some cases of railway encroachment in Haldwani area are going on in the court. Which has been kept out of marking. Railways and Revenue Department have been directed to show ownership of their respective lands.
If the local administration is to be believed, keeping in view the public interest and development plans of the Railways, the process of removing encroachers will be adopted by giving them notice. So that no dispute of any kind arises.
