Haldwani: The havoc of high speed has been seen again in the city. Here a high speed car hit a bike rider, due to which the bike rider died on the spot. The matter is of Haldwani-Lalkuan National Highway, a bike rider crossing the haphazard cut on Halduchaur Highway was hit by a car coming from Haldwani. Due to which the businessman of Halduchaur died a painful death on the spot.
The collision was so severe that the car dragged the bike rider for a long distance. After the incident, the car fell down from the highway and two people in the car suffered minor injuries. However, the bike rider was immediately taken to Haldwani Sushila Tiwari Hospital by the local people, where doctors declared him dead.
According to the information, Deepak Joshi (age 40 years), who runs an electrical shop in Halduchaud area, was going from Halduchaud market on a motorcycle at 10 pm last night, when while crossing the road, a speeding car coming from Haldwani hit the bike right in front of the cut in front of SBI. Due to which Deepak Joshi got badly injured, whom the people around immediately took to Haldwani Sushila Tiwari Hospital with the help of an ambulance, where the doctors declared Deepak dead.
Deepak has left behind a family including two daughters and a son, the news of Deepak’s death caused mourning in the family. Local people say that the incident happened due to the negligence of the National Highway. The place where the cut has been left is a very dangerous place. Also, road accidents happen every day. No security arrangements have been made there by the highway. The car was also badly damaged in the accident. It is being told that all the people in the car are residents of Bareilly, who were going from Nainital to Bareilly. Kotwali in-charge Dinesh Fartyal said that further action is being taken in the entire matter.
