According to the Meteorological Department, in Sawan, most of the areas of the state are expected to have more than normal rainfall. Especially in Dehradun, Tehri, Bageshwar, Chamoli, there may be heavy rains.
So far in the monsoon season, the average rainfall in the state is 21 percent more than normal.
This time in the summer, Indradev was kind and most of the areas of the state kept receiving regular rainfall. After this, after the arrival of the southwest monsoon on June 20, the rains gained momentum and heavy rains occurred at many places.
Normal rainfall in Bageshwar district is considered to be 247 mm, whereas 910 mm rainfall has been recorded so far in this monsoon season, which is 269 percent more than normal.
485 mm rainfall was recorded in Chamoli district, which is 152 percent more than normal (192 mm). Rainfall has also broken records in Tehri Garhwal and 373 mm rainfall was recorded there as against the normal 232 mm, which is 61 percent more.
