The continuous rain in the mountainous areas of Uttarakhand for the last few days has been a problem for the people. However, today (Wednesday) there is a possibility of getting some relief from the rain. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain in some parts of Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital and Bageshwar districts.
While there are chances of heavy lightning with thunder in other districts. Meteorologists say that the plains of the state will get relief from the rain. While the speed of rain will also decrease in the mountainous areas.
124 roads closed in Uttarakhand
154 roads are closed in the state due to rain and landslides, out of which 30 roads have been opened. While the work of opening the other 124 is going on on a war footing.
Public Works Minister Satpal Maharaj has instructed the departmental officials that during the monsoon, everyone must pick up their phones and mobiles, so that people can get the correct information about the closure of the road in time.
He said, keeping in mind the problems faced by passengers, there should be no laxity in opening the roads. If any road is closed during monsoon, passengers should get prior information about it at their previous station. Passengers should also be informed about alternative routes.
