Dehradun: The nomination process for the three-tier panchayat elections in 12 districts of Uttarakhand, except Haridwar, is going to start from Wednesday. Preparations for this have been completed in all the districts. The State Election Commission is going to conduct elections for 66,418 posts of panchayats in two phases.
Nominations for both the phases will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on July 2 to 5. After this, the nomination papers will be scrutinized from 8 am to the end of work between July 7 to 9. The time for withdrawal of nomination will be given from 8 am to 3 pm on July 10 and 11.
The result will come on July 31
This election will be held for the posts of 55,587 Gram Panchayat members, 7,499 Gram Pradhans, 2,974 Kshetra Panchayat members and 358 District Panchayat members in 89 development blocks in the state. After the joint nomination process is completed, the symbol allocation process for both the phases will be different.
Symbols for the first phase of elections will be allotted on July 14 and for the second phase on July 18. After this, the first phase of elections will be held on July 24, the second phase on July 28, the result of which will be declared on July 31. Till June 30, 6,853 nomination papers were sold.
