Dehradun, April 3, 2025 – Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan held a crucial meeting regarding the development of railway facilities in Uttarakhand. He directed the Transport Department to provide a comprehensive update on the status of all proposed rail projects in the state and prepare a detailed report on the challenges faced by ongoing railway projects.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of upgrading railway stations, including Dehradun Railway Station, and ensuring efficient coordination with the Ministry of Railways, RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited), and other relevant institutions to speed up the execution of projects.

The Transport Department reported that Uttarakhand currently has five key railway projects, including three proposed and two ongoing projects.

2️⃣ Dehradun-Saharanpur Rail Project – Total distance 92.60 km, 8 stations, and survey work currently underway.
