Following directives from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the process of constructing a three-story parking facility with a capacity of 43 cars within the Pithoragarh District Court complex has been accelerated. A committee constituted at the State Secretariat, chaired by Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar (Secretary, Housing, and State Estate Officer), deliberated on the project’s revised cost estimate of โน959.47 lakh.
Following the initial release of โน270.61 lakh, the project cost has increased by โน282.93 lakh due to additional provisions for electrification, structural reinforcement, and the installation of two lifts; a written breakdown of these costs has been sought from the Public Works Department.
Situated on Market Road, the facility will benefit lawyers, litigants, and the general public alike, helping to alleviate the issue of haphazard roadside parking. The Housing Secretary stated that instructions have been issued to the District Magistrate of Pithoragarh to determine parking fees to ensure organized operation and maintenance.
