The Higher Education Department has issued a government order approving the establishment of a new government college in Kafligair, Bageshwar district, as part of the plan to open a college in every development block. A total of 18 positions—comprising both teaching and non-teaching staff (13 regular and 5 outsourced)—have been sanctioned for the college’s operations.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the government’s objective is to provide higher education to the youth at the local level. The sanctioned posts include a Principal and a Librarian, as well as Assistant Professors for Hindi, English, Sociology, Economics, History, Political Science, and Sanskrit.
Dr. Rawat added that the college will operate in accordance with UGC standards, and the process for obtaining accreditation for employment-oriented courses will be initiated. The institute will soon be provided with its own land and a building equipped with modern facilities, ensuring that local students do not have to travel far for their education.
