An RTO (Enforcement and Road Safety) team conducted a surprise inspection and took strict action against the Blinkit store located on Dehradun’s Canal Road for encroaching upon the footpath and obstructing traffic.
Key Points:
• Illegal parking on the footpath: Two-wheelers belonging to delivery riders were found haphazardly parked on the road and footpath outside the store, causing traffic congestion. The presence of two nearby schools posed a serious safety risk to children walking in the area.
• Document discrepancies: Inspections revealed that several riders lacked valid driving licenses and necessary vehicle registration documents. On-the-spot fines were issued for these violations.
• Notice to management: A notice is being issued to the store management for failing to arrange proper parking or deploy security guards, despite complaints from local residents.
RTO Dr. Anita Chamola clarified that action will continue against commercial establishments that encroach upon public roads or disregard safety regulations.
