On Saturday, a team from the Dehradun district administration conducted surprise inspections of madrasas operating in Azad Colony (near ISBT) and Mehuwala Mafi. During this operation, one madrasa was sealed after being found to be operating without registration, while written undertakings were obtained from the administrators of two others.
• Madrasa Jamia-tus-Salam Al-Islamia Sealed: Approximately 125 children were found studying at this madrasa in Azad Colony, but the management could not produce any valid registration certificate. Consequently, the team immediately sealed the premises.
• Undertakings Obtained: No children were present during the inspections of ‘Madrasa Dar-e-Arqam’ in Azad Colony and ‘Madrasa Darul Uloom Rahimia’ in Mehuwala Mafi. Due to the lack of registration, written undertakings were obtained from both administrators, committing that they would not operate without valid registration.
The administration has clarified that strict action will continue against institutions that violate the rules.
