More than 150 complaints were received during the ‘Public Grievance Redressal Day’ held at the Collectorate auditorium, with many being resolved on the spot. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan instructed officials to ensure timely and high-quality resolution of issues.
Key directives included:
• Irregularities in disaster-related works: The District Development Officer (DDO) and the Disaster Management Officer were directed to submit a report within seven days regarding alleged fraud in disaster-related activities in Gram Panchayat Papriyan.
• Sealing of an illegal factory: Orders were issued to immediately seal a heavy welding factory operating without permission or a No Objection Certificate (NOC) amidst a residential area in Jhivarhedi, Vikasnagar.
• Encroachment: An inquiry was assigned to the SDM and Tehsildar (Sadar) regarding a complaint about the illegal occupation of government land and the construction of a four-story building.
• Case involving a special-needs child: The Social Welfare Officer and the Probation Officer were directed to conduct a joint inquiry into the Latika Roy Foundation’s refusal to grant admission to a special-needs child.
The District Magistrate emphasized that the redressal of complaints should not be merely a formality but must ensure a genuine solution.
