Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam conducted a high-level review of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign on Saturday via video conferencing with the Divisional Commissioners of Kumaon and Garhwal and all District Magistrates. During the meeting, the CEO instructed all District Election Officers (DEOs) to boost the morale of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and field staff, acknowledging their diligent efforts. He directed that in areas where movement is hampered by rain, BLOs should collect the necessary documents, prepare reports at their level, and ensure appropriate action is taken. Additionally, instructions were issued to Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to devise a streamlined strategy for addressing the cases of unmapped voters.
The CEO also reviewed in detail the current progress regarding Forms 6, 7, and 8 across all districts. He directed officials to engage in continuous dialogue with voters in the field to dispel any misconceptions. The District Magistrates of Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar were asked to prepare a special, detailed action plan for hearing matters related to notices. Feedback was also obtained regarding the recent district visits undertaken by Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat and Garhwal Commissioner Anand Swaroop, and both commissioners were instructed to continue their field visits regularly. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
