On Tuesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth ₹17.80 crore in Purkul, within the Mussoorie assembly constituency. These projects include the inauguration of a community center built in memory of the late Deepak Pundir.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is advancing towards a golden era of development. The government is fulfilling every promise without pause or fatigue. He noted that work is proceeding rapidly on projects such as the construction of ‘Sainya Dham’ in Purkul and the upgradation of the 13-km main road leading to the lower terminal of the Mussoorie ropeway. Additionally, efforts are underway to ensure drinking water supply under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and to strengthen the Maldevta-Suakholi road.
Taking aim at the opposition, the Chief Minister remarked that some individuals are misleading the public by spreading rumors. He asserted that the government has established the rule of law in the state by implementing stringent measures, including anti-conversion laws, the Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-cheating laws, and anti-riot legislation. Since the implementation of the anti-cheating law, over 34,000 youths have secured jobs through a transparent process. Furthermore, initiatives such as ‘House of Himalayas’, ‘Homestay’, and ‘Wed in Uttarakhand’ have contributed to a record 4.4 percent decline in the unemployment rate. Uttarakhand has also secured the top rank in the country in NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index.
Several dignitaries, including Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, were present at the event.
