In accordance with the Election Commission’s directives, the special revision of the electoral roll has commenced in Dehradun district. The draft electoral roll has recently been published, offering voters a valuable opportunity to rectify their details. District Election Officer Dr. Ashish Chauhan stated that claims and objections regarding discrepancies in the electoral roll can be filed until August 13, 2026.
To facilitate this process, offices for EROs (Electoral Registration Officers) and AEROs (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) have been set up in every assembly constituency. Voters with errors in their details will be issued a notice at least seven days prior to the hearing. For the correction process, citizens must submit any one of the 11 prescribed valid documents as proof. The District Election Officer has issued clear instructions to ensure the availability of basic amenities—such as drinking water, furniture, and uninterrupted electricity—at the hearing centers.
Currently, a total of 1,190,805 voters are registered in Dehradun district, including persons with disabilities and service voters. The administration has clarified that the disposal of all received objections will be completed by September 11, and the final electoral roll will be published on September 15. Eligible citizens are urged to update their details in a timely manner upon receiving a notice, ensuring they can exercise their right to vote without hindrance in upcoming elections
