Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has issued directives to further strengthen cybersecurity across all state universities. He instructed Vice-Chancellors to strictly adhere to the ‘Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act’ to ensure the security of digital data, thereby safeguarding students’ information and preventing cyber fraud.
Several key decisions were taken during the review meeting:
โข Research and Encouragement: Under the ‘One University, One Research’ scheme, universities are required to present their research work before the Chancellor. Additionally, 20 meritorious students from each university will be honored by the Governor.
โข Cultural Preservation: A workshop involving Sanskrit universities from across the country will be organized at the Sanskrit University in Haridwar.
โข Student Representation: A consensus was reached to reserve 50 percent of the seats for female students in the upcoming student union elections.
โข Social Responsibility: Universities were also directed to prepare detailed reports on the villages they have adopted.
Higher Education Secretary B.V.R.C. Purushottam, Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, and Vice-Chancellors of various universities attended the meeting and agreed to formulate a new action plan for cybersecurity and the conduct of examinations
