A third-party audit of identified ‘black spots’ (accident-prone areas) in Uttarakhand has commenced with the aim of reducing road accidents and strengthening safety standards across the state. This responsibility has been entrusted to the expert agency ‘M/s D’Ayoliza Consultants Private Limited’. The agency will conduct detailed surveys, data analysis, and physical inspections of these locations to prepare a report on corrective measures.
A total of 40 black spots have been identified for the first phase of the audit, distributed across Dehradun (21), Haridwar (8), Tehri (6), Chamoli (2), Rudraprayag (1), and Uttarkashi (2). Today, the audit team inspected the first three of the 21 identified sites in Dehradun. The audit of the remaining sites is scheduled for June 6.
To ensure full cooperation during this process, Dr. Anita Chamola, Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement and Road Safety), Dehradun, held a meeting with the ARTOs of the respective districts. Officials have been instructed to provide the audit team with necessary data and all possible assistance during field visits. Upon completion of the audit, the agency will submit its report to the Road Safety Lead Agency. Subsequently, proposals for corrective action will be forwarded to the relevant executing agencies through the District Road Safety Committee to enhance road safety.
