Divisional Transport Officer (RTO) Dehradun, Mr. Sandeep Saini, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ARTO office in Roorkee, the newly under-construction building, and the Green Card Center located at the Narsan Checkpost. During this visit, he issued necessary directives aimed at making the department’s operations more transparent and streamlined.
The key highlights of the inspection are as follows:
โข โARTO Roorkee (Old Building): The RTO directed the immediate removalโor the initiation of auction proceedingsโfor abandoned or defunct vehicles that had been lying within the premises for an extended period. He reviewed the office registers and issued instructions to ensure that records are kept up-to-date and that public-related tasks are completed without any delay.
โข โNewly Under-Construction Building and Approach Road: Following the receipt of financial approval, the Public Works Department (PWD) has proposed the construction of an approach road at this site. During the inspection, the Revenue Department carried out demarcation proceedings. Additionally, the RTO issued directives to identify suitable land and prepare a proposal for the future establishment of a “Transport Police Station.”
โข โNarsan Green Card Center: Here, the RTO inspected the newly constructed “Divya Waiting Hall” and engaged directly with passengers and drivers to gather their feedback.
RTO Sandeep Saini emphasized that road safety, discipline, and public convenience constitute the department’s top priorities, and that any form of negligence in these matters will not be tolerated at any level.
