Under the directives of Banshidhar Tiwari, Vice Chairman of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), a rigorous campaign against illegal construction and unauthorized land plotting continues within the Authority’s jurisdiction. In furtherance of this initiative, a major enforcement action was carried out on Friday in the Harbhajwala area (near the Forest Check Post, DSP Chowk) along the Shimla Bypass.
Here, Tahir Ansari was developing an unauthorized land plotting scheme across approximately three bighas of land without obtaining any requisite approval from the Authority or necessary building plan sanctions—a clear violation of the Authority Act. Acting on the orders of Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal, an MDDA team arrived at the site and, utilizing JCB machines, demolished the illegally constructed roads, boundary demarcations, and other structural developments.
The Authority has issued a stern warning that any form of land development or construction activity undertaken without prior permission will not be tolerated, and that such strict enforcement actions will continue in the future. Furthermore, the general public has been urged to verify the legal validity of any plot of land—including the confirmation of MDDA approval—before proceeding with its purchase. Supervisory staff, including Assistant Engineer Vijay Singh Rawat and Junior Engineer Munesh Rana, were present at the site during the enforcement operation.
