The Election Commission of India has announced a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign across 19 states, including Uttarakhand, as part of its third phase. In Uttarakhand, this process will be conducted based on a qualifying date of July 1, 2026.

Sharing the timeline for the campaign, Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam has announced the following key dates:
โข May 29 to June 7, 2026: Printing of enumeration forms and training of relevant personnel.
โข June 8 to July 7, 2026: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door surveys to ensure the distribution and collection of forms.
โข July 14, 2026: Publication of the Draft Electoral Roll.
โข July 14 to August 13, 2026: Period for filing claims and objections regarding the electoral roll.
โข July 10 to September 11, 2026: Disposal of received claims and objections.
โข September 15, 2026: Publication of the Final Electoral Roll.
Preparations and Participation
The Chief Electoral Officer informed that political parties have, so far, appointed 21,808 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for the state’s 11,733 polling booths. The primary objective of this campaign is to thoroughly purify and update the electoral roll, ensuring that no eligible citizen is deprived of their right to vote.
