The police control room received information about a bomb planted at the Laksar railway station, causing a stir. The GRP and RPF, along with bomb disposal squads, immediately began intensive checking of the platforms, circulating areas, waiting rooms, ticket counters, and yards. Police personnel at other railway stations, including Roorkee, were also alerted. After hours of investigation, the police heaved a sigh of relief when everything appeared normal. During this period, efforts were underway to trace the caller. Upon finding the location, the police team arrested Kulbir, a resident of Khanpur, accused of providing false information.
Laksar GRP Station Head Rachna Devrani stated that on Thursday morning, a caller called the police control room and reported a bomb planted at the Laksar railway station. Police immediately swung into action upon receiving the information from the control room. Upon the instructions of SP Railways Aruna Bharti, the GRP, along with the RPF and BDS, immediately began intensive checking of the railway station, premises, and trains. During this time, policemen at nearby stations like Roorkee, Dosni, Landhaura, Aethal, Pathri, Raisi were also alerted. After hours of checking, everyone breathed a sigh of relief when no bomb or explosive was found.
Meanwhile, the police also kept gathering information about the caller. After the caller was identified, Station House Officer Rachna Devrani, along with her team, traced the location and arrested the accused Kulbir, resident of Khanpur, Police Station Khanpur. The mobile phone from which the call was made was also recovered from the accused. The Station House Officer said that an FIR has been registered against the accused. The accused will be presented in the court.
