The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has adopted a strict stance against the increasing illegal construction and unauthorized plotting in its jurisdiction and has intensified a large-scale demolition drive. Under the clear directives of Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari, MDDA’s enforcement teams are continuously on the ground, taking action against those violating the rules. The objective of this campaign is not only to curb illegal activities but also to ensure planned development and protect the interests of ordinary citizens.
*Demolition Action on 8 to 10 Bighas of Land*
The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority is continuing its strict action against illegal plotting within its jurisdiction. In this regard, demolition action was taken against illegal plotting in various areas. The authority’s team carried out demolition action against illegal plotting being done by Neeraj Sharma and other individuals on approximately 8 to 10 bighas of land in Saliyawala, Dhaulas, Dehradun area. The investigation revealed that the plotting was being done without an approved layout and in violation of the prescribed standards. Accordingly, the illegal plotting was demolished. This action was taken in compliance with the orders of Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal. During the demolition drive, Assistant Engineer Surjeet Singh Rawat, Junior Engineer Harshit Mauthani, the concerned supervisor, and police personnel were present at the site. The operation was conducted peacefully and safely. The MDDA has clarified that strict action against illegal construction and unauthorized plotting will continue in the authority’s area. Citizens are appealed to obtain all necessary approvals from the authority before purchasing any land or undertaking any construction.

MDDA officials have appealed to citizens to obtain complete information about the necessary approvals from the authority before purchasing any land or starting any construction work. Investing in illegal colonies puts people’s hard-earned money at risk, therefore, awareness is the best protection. The authority has also clarified that even stricter action will be taken against those who carry out illegal constructions in the future. Those who ignore the rules despite repeated warnings and notices will not be spared under any circumstances.
