Two years ago, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Airport was ranked 23rd. However, after some improvements, it secured the eighth position in the previous round. To achieve this excellent performance, all facilities, from parking to boarding, were upgraded. Restrooms, cleanliness of the premises, a kids’ zone, and a library were established. The standards of all facilities were enhanced. Need for improvement in air services:
Airport Director Sharad Yewale informed that the country’s only Param Vir Chakra gallery has been established at the airport. Tourism Minister Jaswant Singh said that the recognition received is satisfactory, but there is a need to improve air services. Often, scheduled flights are cancelled, causing difficulties for tourists. This needs to be addressed.
