Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Smt. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Union Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, at his official residence in New Delhi today.
During the meeting, Speaker Smt. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan presented the Hon’ble Defence Minister with a book based on Uttarakhand’s world-renowned folk drama, Ramman, and discussed its cultural significance, traditions, and evolution in detail.
Giving details of the meeting, Smt. Ritu Khanduri said that on this occasion, Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inquired about the well-being of her respected father, Major General (Retd.) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri (AVSM), and also expressed his desire to visit Dehradun and meet him.
During the meeting, the Assembly Speaker also informed the Hon’ble Defence Minister about the geographical features of Kotdwar, its military background, and the large number of citizens from the area serving the nation, and extended a cordial invitation to him to visit Kotdwar.
This courtesy call was a significant symbol in the direction of honoring and promoting Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage, folk traditions, and glorious military legacy.
