The cold weather has intensified in Uttarakhand. Today, Haridwar and Rishikesh woke up to dense fog. Light mist also covered the hilly areas. Meanwhile, rain and snowfall are predicted in the mountainous regions of the state four days from now.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry across the state until December 20th. However, on December 21st, there is a possibility of rain in some parts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh districts. Snowfall is also expected in areas above 3500 meters.

The weather has taken a turn, resulting in a thick blanket of fog covering the city and surrounding rural areas. Visibility is poor everywhere. The sudden increase in cold has caused considerable difficulties for the elderly and children. Due to the intensifying cold, people are facing difficulties in going to work and carrying out their daily activities. On the Haridwar-Najibabad highway, drivers are forced to drive cautiously at a slow speed with their headlights on. Rishikesh was also enveloped in fog this morning.
