Climate change and changing weather patterns are directly impacting temperatures. The significant decrease in winter rainfall is also affecting temperatures, leading to a dry, cold spell from the plains to the mountains. Nights are expected to become even colder across the state in the coming daysAccording to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, minimum temperatures across the state will drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the next four to five days. This will result in colder nights. However, bright sunshine during the day will lessen the feeling of cold.
Regarding rainfall, there is no possibility of rain this week. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature at night was 9.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. Similar conditions prevailed in other parts of the state.
Possibility of Rain and Snowfall Today
Rain and snowfall are expected in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand starting today. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, light rain is likely in some parts of Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Pithoragarh districts.
