The problem of drinking water supply in the urban and rural areas of the Srinagar assembly constituency will be resolved. For this purpose, the Water Department and the Drinking Water Corporation have been instructed to complete the ongoing drinking water projects within the stipulated time frame. In particular, the Kandarsyun-Paithani pumping drinking water scheme has been directed to be completed within two months.
State Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, in a statement issued to the media, said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, every household in the Srinagar assembly constituency will be provided with clean drinking water so that no family is deprived of water supply. Concrete instructions have been given to the officials of the Water Department and the Drinking Water Corporation in this regard. He said that departmental officials have been instructed to complete the Kandarsyun-Paithani pumping drinking water scheme, one of the most ambitious drinking water projects in the area, within two months. He said that any negligence in quality standards during the construction of the project will not be tolerated. He instructed the officials to expedite the construction work of service tanks, pipelines, etc., under the drinking water scheme so that the villagers can benefit from this project soon.
Dr. Rawat said that all the village panchayats in the assembly constituency will be covered by drinking water supply. For this, all villages will be connected to drinking water schemes. He said that the villages that have been left out of the drinking water scheme will be connected to another pumping scheme, and instructions have been given to the implementing agency and departmental officials in this regard. He said that the completion of the drinking water schemes will ensure continuous 24-hour drinking water supply in the rural areas.
The Cabinet Minister also instructed the officials to expedite the completion of the Bidoli village group pumping scheme, Chunakhet drinking water scheme, Kaliyasaur drinking water scheme, Bilkedar drinking water scheme, and Thalisain Nagar Panchayat pumping drinking water scheme in the area.
