Tehri Garhwal: A major accident occurred in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand. A bus carrying pilgrims reportedly fell into a ravine near Kunjapuri. Upon receiving information, police and administration teams arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation. Five people died in the accident. Twenty others were reportedly injured and admitted to a nearby hospital. The injured are believed to be from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
According to current information, five people have died in the accident. It is reported that the bus passengers were returning from Kunjapuri to visit the holy place. The accident occurred while the passengers were returning from there. Kunjapuri is approximately 23 km from Rishikesh. According to current information, the bus fell into a ravine approximately 70 meters deep near Hindolakhal. Following the instructions of SDRF Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi, a total of five SDRF teams were immediately dispatched to the scene from Post Dhalwala, Post Koti Colony, and SDRF Battalion Headquarters. ASP JR Joshi, Tehri Garhwal, confirmed that five people had died in the accident.

On Monday, 28 passengers arrived at the Kunjapuri Temple in a bus from Rishikesh. Along with this bus, passengers in another bus also went to visit the Mother Goddess at the Kunjapuri Temple. It is being reported that these passengers were returning after visiting the temple. On the return journey, 18 of the 28 passengers had boarded bus number UK14PA1769, and more were about to board. However, as soon as the driver started the bus, it went out of control and plunged into an 80- to 100-meter-deep ravine.
Four women and one man died on the spot in this accident. Thirteen injured have been admitted to Suman Hospital, Narendra Nagar. Two in critical condition have been referred to Rishikesh AIIMS. Upon receiving information about the incident, Tehsildar Ayodhya Prasad Uniyal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Singh Bhandari, and Station House Officer Sanjay Mishra immediately arrived at the scene. ASP JR Joshi, Tehri Garhwal, stated that some of the passengers were believed to be from Gujarat and some from Delhi. Police are currently investigating. Some people were scattered after the accident. Dehradun SSP Ajay Singh provided detailed information on the incident. He stated that some people were staying at an ashram in Munikireti, near Rishikesh. They had gone to visit the Kunjapuri Temple near Narendranagar in Tehri district earlier today. The accident occurred while returning from there.
According to preliminary information, the bus experienced a brake problem, leading to a crash that caused the bus to lose control and fall into the ravine. Upon receiving information about the accident, Tehri police and SDRF teams arrived at the scene. Five people were killed in the accident, while 20 others were injured. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital. The condition of two to three of the injured is reported to be critical. All have been rescued.

Regarding the Tehri bus accident, CMO Tehri Shyam Vijay said that a total of 18 people were on board the bus. Five died, while 13 others were injured. Three of the injured passengers were referred to AIIMS Rishikesh, and 10 were sent to Narendra Nagar Hospital for treatment. Inspector Sanjay Mishra said that all the devotees had come to attend a satsang being held at the Dayanand Ashram in Muni Ki Reti. This morning, 28 devotees boarded the bus to visit the Kunjapuri Temple. While returning from the darshan, the bus went out of control near the temple and fell into a ditch. The cause of the accident will only be known after an investigation.

The bodies of the five deceased have been sent to AIIMS, Rishikesh by ambulance, and the 13 injured have been sent to the Narendra Nagar Sub-District Hospital.
