Surguja: President Draupadi Murmu is arriving in Surguja today. She will participate in the state-level Tribal Pride Day event. The city will be under tight police surveillance during the President’s visit. In view of the President’s visit, an NSG team has arrived in Surguja. The team inspected the President’s route chart and provided guidance to the force on areas requiring enhanced security. Earlier on Tuesday, the Air Force inspected security standards by landing helicopters at all three helipads one by one. Pilots and other officials also provided necessary guidance.
Where will the event take place: A grand dome has been constructed on the PG College grounds. The President’s three helicopters will land at the city’s Gandhi Stadium. Three helipads have been constructed simultaneously at the Gandhi Stadium. A large police force has been deployed for security during the President’s visit to Surguja. Currently, IG Deepak Jha is personally overseeing security arrangements. The Director General will be present for the event. Security arrangements in the city are handled by 6 IPS officers and 50 gazetted officers, while 2,000 soldiers have been deployed.
Traffic Diversion Advisory Issued: To avoid any inconvenience to the public during President Draupadi Murmu’s arrival at the PG College Grounds, Ambikapur, a traffic diversion advisory has been issued for vehicles traveling through Ambikapur city and Ambikapur. The traffic advisory has been issued from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Traffic Restrictions Completely Restricted in the Event Area: During the President’s arrival, traffic will be completely restricted from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM from Akashvani Chowk to Polytechnic College Gate No. 1 (Ring Road) and from Ghadi Chowk to Kisan Rice Mill Mor Main Road.
Changed route for Manendragarh Banaras Road: All passenger buses and other four-wheelers coming from Manendragarh Road and Banaras Road will be diverted via Sai Mandir Tiraha, Mayor Road, Rawat Residency Tiraha, Kanya Parisar Road, Gangapur Mod, Ring Road near Masoom Hospital, Bus Stand.
New route for Balrampur Pratappur: All passenger buses and other four-wheelers coming from Balrampur Road and Pratappur Road will be diverted via Ring Road via Pratappur Chowk, Larangsai Chowk, Chandni Chowk, Sadbhavna Chowk, Bharatmata Chowk, Bus Stand, and Bus Stand to reach their destinations.
Diverted route for Raigarh Bilaspur: All passenger buses and other four-wheelers coming from Raigarh Road and Bilaspur Road will be diverted via Ring Road via Bharatmata Chowk, Bilaspur Chowk, New Bus Stand, Gangapur Mod near Masoom Hospital, Makhan Vihar Tiraha, and MG Road to reach their destinations.
Exemption for Emergency Vehicles: Heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering Ambikapur city from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Emergency vehicles will be permitted to enter and exit Ambikapur city. During this period, citizens are requested to use alternative routes to reach their destinations.
Parking Arrangements: P-1 Kisan Rice Mill Ground parking lot is for public vehicles arriving from MG Road and Banaras Road. P-2 Rajmohini Bhawan Gate parking lot is for VIP caravan vehicles (Honorable Governor, Chief Minister, and very senior officials). P-3 Boundary Wall parking lot behind Rajmohini Bhawan is for the Deputy Chief Minister’s caravan vehicles. P-4 Ground parking lot behind Rajmohini Bhawan is for the caravan vehicles of other ministers.
