Puttaparthi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. Prior to this, he held a roadshow in Puttaparthi, where a large crowd welcomed Prime Minister Modi. Prime Minister Modi visited the sacred temple and Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba to pay his respects. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan were also present on the occasion.
At the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi said, “Coming to the sacred land of Puttaparthi is a deeply emotional and spiritual experience. I am privileged to pay my respects at Baba’s Samadhi. It is an experience that forever fills the heart with devotion. The centenary year of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is not just a celebration, but a divine blessing.” Although he is no longer physically present with us, his teachings, love, and spirit of service continue to guide and inspire millions around the world.’ He said, ‘Poor families visiting Sri Sathya Sai Hospital for the first time are astonished to find that there is no billing counter. Although treatment is free, patients and their families face no inconvenience.’
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts opened for 20,000 daughters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Today, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts have been opened in the names of more than 20,000 daughters. This has ensured their education and a secure future. The Government of India launched the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana 10 years ago, focusing on ensuring the education and bright future of daughters.
It offers one of the highest interest rates in the country, offering our daughters the highest interest rate of 8.2%. So far, more than 4 crore accounts have been opened for girls under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and you will be happy to know that more than ₹3.25 lakh crore have been deposited in these bank accounts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was greeted by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu while attending the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi. Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Union Ministers Ram Mohan Naidu, Kinjarapu, and G. Kishan Reddy were also present. The Hill View Auditorium in Puttaparthi has been beautifully decorated for the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Puttaparthi Airport directly from Delhi this morning (Wednesday). Earlier, Governor Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and Minister Nara Lokesh arrived in Puttaparthi at 5 pm on Tuesday.
Chandrababu Naidu said, “Baba’s fame is worldwide.”

I was only five years old when people around me, even at school, called me “the little boy with hair like Sathya Sai Baba.” I was too young then to understand the significance of his contribution to humanity. I first met him in Whitefield in the mid-1990s and have had the privilege of meeting him many times since. Separate stages have been set up in the Hill View Auditorium for the Prime Minister, ministers, and Trust dignitaries. The entire auditorium is under tight security by SPG security personnel. Prasanthi Nilayam and all the surrounding temple buildings are decorated with colorful lights and beautifully decorated. Ministers Payyavula Keshav, Satyakumar, Anagani Satyaprasad and Savita gave a grand welcome to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at Puttaparthi airport.
