Uttarakhand Congress spokesperson Dr. Pratima Singh described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Uttarakhand on the 25th anniversary of the state’s foundation day as disappointing, saying that Mr. Narendra Modi insulted the great people of Uttarakhand by not making any announcements in their favor during his visit to Dehradun. Dr. Pratima Singh said that the state of Uttarakhand has been suffering from natural disasters for the past several years. The Prime Minister’s failure to announce any development package indicates that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has no concern for the state’s suffering. This was the Prime Minister’s first visit to Uttarakhand after the natural disaster that struck during the 2025 monsoon season. It would have been better if the Prime Minister had announced the approval of adequate funds for the development of the districts devastated by the disaster. But by not doing so, the Prime Minister has mocked the 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand. She said that whenever Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has visited Uttarakhand in the past, he has always neglected Uttarakhand. By failing to make any announcements in the interest of the state of Uttarakhand on the silver jubilee of the State Foundation Day, he has certainly hurt the public sentiments.
Dr. Pratima Singh said that the manner in which the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami government misused government machinery to forcibly gather crowds for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally is no secret. She said that the people of Uttarakhand had not only hope but complete confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would make a significant announcement on behalf of the central government in the interest of the state of Uttarakhand, given the victory of five BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha elections and a more than two-thirds majority in the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections, to rebuild the disaster-ravaged assets of the state. However, by failing to do so, the Prime Minister has once again deceived and deceived the great people of Uttarakhand.
