Amritsar: On the occasion of the Prakashotsav of Jagat Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a group of 1796 Sikh pilgrims led by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee left for Pakistan from the Attari Wagah border today.
Under the leadership of Jathedar Gyani Kuldeep Singh Gargj, this group was sent off from the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee office with the cheers of Khalsa Jaho-Jalal amid the echo of cheers. The group will take part in events at Nankana Sahib and other historical gurdwaras. On this occasion, Shri Akal Takht Sahib’s Jathedar Gyani Kuldeep Singh Gargj also left for Pakistan for darshan along with the accompaniment.
“Gnani Kuldeep Singh Gargj said, “”Despite the visa being issued by the government, the Kartarpur Sahib corridor has not been fully opened yet.””” He said that this corridor is not just a way of travel, but a bridge connecting hearts. The jathedar expressed confidence that the Kartarpur corridor would be opened soon, just as the government had earlier accepted the prayers of the Sikh community.
Gyani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj also said that Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent the last years of his life in Kartarpur Sahib. So it is natural for the Sikh community that every Sikh can visit those sacred places without any hindrance. He prayed that in the coming time, corridors should be opened on Aadhaar card instead of passports so that more and more entourage can easily visit the guru’s homes.
Giving a message to the entourage on the occasion of the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Gyani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj said that ‘Guru Sahib had given three golden principles which include ‘Karma, Naam Japo and Banto’. The person who does the work is always honest, by chanting the name God resides in every heart and divides us social equality.
These principles are the basis of the guru’s langar, which still inspire service and brotherhood in society today. Sangeet always longs to visit various gurdwaras in Pakistan, including Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Devotees expressed immense joy at getting the opportunity to go with the group.
“Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan thanked the governments and said, “”We are very fortunate that we have got the opportunity to visit the holy Guru Dhams of Guru Nanak Patshah.” Our family and people living in Pakistan are very happy on this occasion and we thank God millions.
“””We are going to Pakistan for the first time, so we are doubly happy.” Earlier, the visa was rejected twice, but this time Guru Sahib was gracious and we are going. We pray that in the coming time more and more accompanying gurus visit the house and get the grace of the guru.
It is noteworthy that a group of Sikh pilgrims will return to India on November 13 after visiting Guru Dhams. Some pilgrims have been prevented from going to Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Pratap Singh, a member of the Shiromani Committee, said that many Sikh pilgrims were not allowed to go to Pakistan after the group reached the border today, it is unfortunate for them.
The incompetence of the governments has come to light in this. If the devotees are being stopped despite getting a visa, it should be investigated and the matter should be resolved soon and the devotees should be allowed to go to Pakistan.
