The weather in Uttarakhand will be clear on the occasion of Diwali. However, snowfall is expected in the higher altitudes on October 22nd. This will bring back the cold. Meteorologists believe that the influence of La Lina will bring an early onset of winter this time.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the weather will be clear across the state on Monday and Tuesday. On October 22nd, light rain is expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag districts, with snowfall in the higher altitudes. However, the weather will remain dry in other districts. Regarding the coming days, the weather will remain clear throughout the state from October 23rd to 25th.
Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal said that the monsoon has completely withdrawn from the state. The influence of La Lina is likely to bring more severe cold this time. This will result in a cold wave in many areas of the state, and there is a possibility of significant snowfall in the higher altitudes. This will lead to an early onset of winter.
What is La Lina?
La Lina is a phenomenon that occurs in the ocean. Its effects impact weather around the world. La Lina causes temperatures in the Pacific Ocean’s surface waters to drop significantly below normal. When winds become stronger, warm surface ocean waters are pushed westward, cooling the eastern Pacific Ocean waters, resulting in colder winters across the country
